Some things
April 22nd, 2008 by Cass -- Posted in Bible Study |I thought I would use some space here to share some of the things I am learning in my Bible Study, as we said we’d do.
I am doing the study To Train Up a Mom right now. The lesson are broken down into short segments, which makes it easy to fit it in. Today, I started a new lesson, and the lead verse was Ephesians 2:10, where we are told that God created us for good works, which He laid out for us beforehand.
ANG.! The works are already laid out. We were created to do those jobs God decided needed to be done. How many do we miss? and what blessings do we miss by missing the jobs? Worse, how many do we see and refuse because we “don’t have the skills”, “don’t feel called”, “are better than that?”
The other side is that He so greatly desires to reward us in heaven that He presents us with opportunities to garner jewels for our crowns. He desires to richly bless us her and there!
And we make a big deal that Christ is the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the world, and don’t get me wrong, it is a very big deal. A deal without which nothing else matters. But the fact is, God has a plan for each of us, and that plan was also made from the foundation of the world. The difference between us and the true Son, is that we often say “no”.

This is all so good. I am reminded of a poem/story in which a person asks God about the closed treasure chests that on on the days of a calendar. He said those are the things that you did not ask for so I did not give them to you. We have to ask. He has soooo much treasure stored away for us and we fail to ask for it. And I also think that those treasures are the same ones that we don’t get because we fail to bid to God.
